Traffic stop leads to drug related arrest in Lenoir

LENOIR, NC (March 20, 2019) — On March 19th, 2019 at 2:09 pm the Lenoir Police Department’s Narcotics Unit along with a Lenoir Police Department K-9 unit stopped a gray 1994 Infinity on Scroggs Ave. near Main Street. The reason for the initial stop was a seatbelt violation.  The person driving the vehicle was Jordan Fredrick.  During the course of the investigation the vehicle was searched.  The officers located 9.5 grams of crack cocaine and 2.0 grams of heroin inside the center console of the car.  Later, 21.7 grams of methamphetamine was found inside Fredrick’s pocketbook.   According to North Carolina State guidelines, the seized drugs were valued at $5,405.00.  Officers also seized $214.00 in US currency.

Jordan Fredrick was arrested at the scene and charged with 1 count of Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Methamphetamine, 1 count of Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Cocaine, 1 ct. Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Heroin, and 1 ct. Felony Maintaining a Dwelling or Vehicle for the   Purpose of Controlled Substance.  Fredrick received a $250,000.00 secured bond and an initial court date of 03/20/2019.  More charges may be forthcoming.  Anyone with information relating to this or any other crime is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 758-8300 or the Lenoir Police Department at 757-2100.
