Seeking Quilts for March Exhibit

GRANITE FALLS, NC (February 8, 2019) — The Granite Falls History Committee is seeking quilts to display at the Granite Falls History and Transportation Museum in March.  To recognize the most popular quilts,  the Committee will present two (2) People’s Choice Awards during a reception on Sunday, March 31st from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Visitors to the museum in March may vote in two (2) different categories (regular and lap size) each time they go.  Voting will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2nd and end at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th.   Quilt owners wishing to participate in the show should call Committee Member Barbara Ross at (828) 396-1668.  Quilters may leave their entries at the museum along with the name of the quilt owner and contact information during the hours the museum is open or make special arrangements with Mrs. Ross.  

Located at 107 Falls Avenue, the Granite Falls History and Transportation Museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 until 4 p. m. except on holiday weekends.  Persons wishing to tour the museum at other times may call the Granite Falls Town Office at 828-396-3131.
