Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office busts pot dealer

LENOIR, NC (May 26, 2017)…Sheriff Alan C. Jones has announced on May 25, 2017, at 2:30 pm, the Sheriff’s Office Ice Unit and SWAT executed a search warrant for drugs at the premise of 3477 Playmore Beach Road in Lenoir. This is the residence of Robert Alan Nichols, age 52, who Agents suspected has been dealing in pounds of marijuana. Agents searched the premise and located a little over three (3) pounds of high grade marijuana hidden in the residence. The street value of the marijuana is approximately $37,800 according to North Carolina Drug State Guidelines. Agents additionally seized fifteen (15) hydrocodone pills, $483 cash, two vehicles, a stolen firearm, and drug paraphernalia. More charges are anticipated.

The following individual was arrested and charged with the listed crimes:

Lenoir, NC

• One (1) Count Felonious Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana.

• One (1) Count Felonious Maintain a Dwelling to Keep/Store a Controlled Substance.

Nichols was incarcerated in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond on the charges. He has a first appearance in District Court in Lenoir on May 30, 2017.
