Caldwell County library, convenience sites and visitor center closed today due to winter storm

CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (January 7, 2017)…All three branches of the Caldwell County Public Library, all of the Caldwell County Convenience Sites and the Wilson Creek Visitor Center are all closed today due to the winter storm.

Citizens Urged to Stay Home and Off Roads…

Caldwell County Emergency Services (ES) in cooperation with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) are also urging citizens in Caldwell County to stay home and off the roads as the snow continues to fall Saturday morning.

According to reports, the worst roads right now are Highway 268, Collettsville Road/Hwy 90 and all roads in the Dudley Shoals area of the county.

There have been no serious accidents or injuries or power outages reported in Caldwell County so far. NCDOT has told Caldwell County ES they have eleven (11) trucks working on Caldwell County roads this morning.
