Walk-In Flu Clinic at Caldwell County Health Department
LENOIR, NC (September 19, 2017)…There will be walk-in, flu clinics at the Caldwell County Health Department, (2345 Morganton BLVD SW, Lenoir) every Monday in October from 9:00am – 11:00am and 2:00pm – 4:00pm. There will also be two walk-in, flu clinics at Granite Falls EMS Base (4 Falls Ave, Granite Falls) October 6th and November 3rd from 9:00am – 12:00pm. No appointments are needed for the walk-in clinics. Flu shots are available while supplies last. The flu vaccine being administered this year is the quadrivalent vaccine which is designed to protect against four different flu viruses: two influenza A (H1N1) viruses and two influenza B viruses.
Payment for flu vaccines can be made with cash, check, current Medicare part B card, current Medicaid card or any other private insurance card. You must present a copy of the front and back of your insurance card at time of service or you will be charged a $25 fee for the vaccine.
Flu consent forms must be filled out in order to receive the vaccination. For your convenience and to save time at the clinic, these forms can be found online at caldwellcountync.org or can be picked up at both the Caldwell County Health Department and at any of the Caldwell County library branches in Lenoir, Hudson and Granite Falls.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that getting vaccinated is the single best way for people to protect not only themselves against flu, but their loved ones as well. “As this year’s flu season approaches, remember these four simple tips to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others: wash your hands often, cover your cough, stay home when sick and get your flu vaccine,” said the Caldwell County Health Department’s Preparedness Coordinator, Chad Coffey.
