Valmead Fire Department announce Officer of the Year and Fireman of the Year

LENOIR, NC (December 3, 2017)… Valmead Fire Rescue announced AJ Musto as Officer of the year and Matt Tester as Fireman of the year at their annual Christmas Party. “A firefighter’s leadership, training and technical ability are tested each and every day”, said Chief Yates, “both these men not only associate with a great fire department, but they make this fire department great!” These men (along with many others) put their lives on the line to serve and protect this community. Board member Larry Tuttle commented, “All our firefighters give exemplary service and are dedicated to their training and the department. This department has really shown award winning service in the past few years and our community should be proud!” This year, Valmead Fire Rescue has responded to around 400 calls.
