GRANITE FALLS, NC (November 1, 2016)…On Thanksgiving Day, Clover Baptist Church will be opening its doors for the eighth year in providing a community Thanksgiving meal. The meal is intended to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal for those who may not be able to financially afford such a meal or for those who might otherwise find themselves eating their Thanksgiving meal alone. The menu will feature turkey, ham, green beans, creamed potatoes, dressing, yeast roll, cranberry sauce, dessert and coffee, tea, or water. The meal is free and will be served from 11 AM until 2 PM on Thanksgiving Day for those who want to come and eat. Clover Baptist Church is located at 100 Pinewood Road in Granite Falls, just one mile off of Hwy 321 between Hickory and Lenoir. The Christmas drama, “The message of Christmas” will be presented by Clover Baptist Church on Friday, December 16 and Saturday, December 17. The drama alone will be presented on Friday evening at 7 pm and all seating is free for this presentation. The drama will be presented in the form of a dinner theatre on Saturday, December 17 at 6 pm and reservations are required for the drama/dinner theatre. The cost for the drama/dinner theatre will be $9 for adults and $7 for children under 12. Two menu choices are available (1) Baked spaghetti with salad, roll, dessert, tea, coffee or water and (2) Pork barbeque with baked beans, slaw, roll, dessert, tea, coffee or water.
Reservations for the drama/dinner theatre may be made by calling the church office at 828 396 2417 between the hours of 8 am and 2:30 pm Monday through Thursday or by stopping by the church office during the aforementioned hours.
The drama opens with the Nativity Scene and remembrance of that glorious night as shared by Mary, Joseph, the angels and the shepherds. Through the various scenes and musical selections the audience will have the opportunity to retrace the life of Jesus Christ from the tiny baby born on Christmas to the resurrected Saviour and Lord. Everyone is encouraged to allow these worship experiences to help them focus on the Message of Christmas.
