Two arrested in Granite Falls after investigation of a known Heroin Trafficker

LENOIR, NC (May 13, 2019) — Sheriff Alan C. Jones has announced a three-month investigation into a known Heroin trafficker has resulted in his arrest along with his girlfriend. Dorian Michael Morgan, age 30, and Heidi Therese Barlow, age 36 of 10 Quarry Road Apartment #6 in Granite Falls were both charged after a search warrant was executed on their apartment by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office SWAT on May 10, 2019. The search warrant was issued after several controlled purchases of drugs were made from Morgan. Agencies assisting in the investigation were the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Lenoir Police Department, and Granite Falls Police Department. Agents searched the home and located over $5,000 in cash, two firearms, and approximately 5 grams of Heroin and a small amount of Marijuana. During the investigation a total of 33 grams of Heroin was seized from Morgan with a street value of $19,800 according to North Carolina guidelines. Agents have a previous Heroin trafficking case with Morgan from July of 2018, which is currently pending in court. Agents are seeking a bond revocation in that case.
