Tractor trailer hauling Christmas trees crashes in northern Caldwell County (video included)

CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (November 16, 2017)…On the evening of Thursday, November 16, 2017 a tractor trailer hauling Christmas trees while traveling south on HWY 321 a few miles south of Blowing Rocking lost control and slammed into an embankment on the northbound side of HWY 321.  The driver of the truck had to be extricated from the truck by firefighters with assistance from a tow truck lifting the cab slightly.  The driver was conscious and transported to a local hospital with undetermined injuries at the time.  Thankfully no other vehicles were involved in this accident.  Patterson Fire Department, Blowing Rock Fire Department, Caldwell County EMS, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department and the North Carolina Highway Patrol all responded to the accident.  Keen Towing & Recovery was on hand to assist with the rescue of the driver as well as cleaning up the accident scene.  As a side note, with the addition of the new Patterson Fire Department Station #2 recently on Waterfalls Road, it surely reduces response times to emergencies in this portion of Caldwell County which can save lives.
