Terrible accident in Lenoir results in two fatalities

LENOIR, NC  (August 29, 2018) — On Tuesday August 28th, 2018 at 4:25 pm the Lenoir Police Department responded to a call of a traffic crash with injuries near the intersection of Lower Creek Drive and Taylorsville Road. When emergency personnel arrived on the scene they located multiple people with injuries.

Joseph Rinard Noll (age 79) of 214 Autumn Cir. Lenoir was driving his 2005 Mercury Sable west on Lower Creek Drive. His wife, Barbara Ann Noll (age 84), was in the front passenger seat.  They collided with Natasha Monique Wells (age 38) of 1014 Cinnamon Court Lenoir who was driving a 2011 Dodge Caliber east on Lower Creek Drive.  Her juvenile nieces’ ages, 2, 9, and 4 (also of 1014 Cinnamon Court Lenoir) were passengers in the back seat of the Dodge Caliber.

Joseph and the 4-year-old died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Barbara was transported to Caldwell UNC Healthcare and was later flown to North Carolina Baptist Hospital.  She is currently listed as being in critical condition.  The 2-year-old and the 9-year-old nieces were initially treated at Caldwell UNC Health Care but were later transported to Carolinas Medical Center. They are currently listed as being in stable condition. Natasha received only minor injuries and was not treated.

This investigation is still ongoing. No further information will be released at this time regarding the circumstances of this crash.

The Lenoir Police Department sends our thoughts and prayers to the families impacted by this heartbreaking incident.
