Symphony on the Square – An Evening Under the Stars

NEWTON, NC (August 1, 2017)…The award-winning Western Piedmont Symphony is extremely happy to be part of this year’s Soldiers Reunion Celebration. This free concert will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 8 PM at 1924 Courthouse Grounds, Newton. Under the direction of Maestro John Gordon Ross, enjoy the talented musicians of the orchestra as they perform familiar marches, a tribute to our military, TV/show tunes and much more. Guest vocalists–Caroline Simyon, Soprano and Danny Gouge, Baritone–will also perform. AND in addition to the orchestra, the Artists of SELEM will produce a laser show that will accompany the music. Bring your lawn chairs and let’s celebrate together.

This wonderful collaborative event is made possible by the support of Thomas Warlick and the City of Newton and a grant provided by the United Arts Council of Catawba County.

The Western Piedmont Symphony is a grant recipient of the North Carolina Arts Council and a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County. Business offices are located on the SALT Block at 243 Third Avenue NE, Hickory. Box office hours are 10:00 am until 2:00 pm Monday-Friday.
