Significant Winter Precipitation Possible This Weekend
CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (December 5, 2018 – 3:20am) — The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg posted a briefing this past Tuesday afternoon that indicates a possibility of 12” to 18” of snow for Caldwell County this weekend.
From the National Weather Service:
WHAT: Periods of moderate to heavy rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow. Changes in precipitation type may occur multiple times throughout the storm.
WHEN: Saturday through Monday
The graphic below shows current forecast for storm total snow from Friday night through Monday. Freezing rain and sleet are also possible, especially around the edges of areas of heavy snow.
While a foot or more of snow looks possible in the mountains at this time, the forecast still has uncertainty in it with regard to amount and locations of snow and possible ice. This picture will be refined as we approach the weekend.
