Shirley Stamey Classroom Dedication

LENOIR, NC (December 4, 2017)…Caldwell County Health Department would like to invite you to the Shirley A. Stamey classroom dedication.  The reception will be held in the 3rd floor conference room at Caldwell County Health and Human Services (2345 Morganton BLVD Lenoir), starting promptly at 4pm on Thursday, December 7, 2017.  A brief program will be held prior to a tour of the classroom.

Shirley Stamey began her nursing career at Grace Hospital in June of 1986.  She began working as a Public Health Nurse for Caldwell County Health Department in August 1987.  In 1999, she became Clinic Nursing Supervisor followed by Clinic Nursing Director in 2003.  Shirley served loyally and faithfully until her passing on May 22, 2017.  At age 62, she had dedicated her entire adult life to Public Health and serving her community.

During her nearly 30 years of service, she provided compassionate care to the citizens of Caldwell County.  Her love of public health was portrayed in everything she did. Not only was she an advocate for her patients, but she was an advocate for her coworkers and employees as well.  Shirley worked whole heartedly until she physically could no more, and then continued to work from home.

We would like to take this opportunity to remember Ms. Stamey and dedicate our Women’s Health classroom in her honor.
