Sheriff Alan Jones announces bid for re-election

LENOIR, NC (December 6, 2017)…Sheriff Alan Jones would like to take this opportunity to thank the citizens of Caldwell County for their support of him and his staff during his tenure as Sheriff of Caldwell County.  Today Sheriff Jones would like to announce that he will file for re-election for the Office of Caldwell County Sheriff.

“It has been an honor and privilege to lead this department, and I would like to continue the work we have started. During my career, I have learned that Law Enforcement has become more than enforcing laws. We are first responders and partners with all emergency services in the county. Understanding the needs of the citizens and having access to available resources has given us the opportunity to help people in situations that go far beyond traditional law enforcement work,” stated Sheriff Jones.

Sheriff Jones further stated, “We are constantly looking for better ways to become more effective in our jobs and provide a better service to our communities.  We are a progressive and well-trained Sheriff’s Office with the best interest of the public’s safety at the heart of the decisions we make.”

Sheriff Jones holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Appalachian State University.  He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy for Law Enforcement Officers in Quantico, Virginia.  Sheriff Jones has thirty years of experience in law enforcement and is a lifelong resident of Caldwell County.

“I am humbled and honored by the trust the citizens of Caldwell County have placed in me and again ask for their support in the upcoming election.”
