Sails Original Music Series to feature Pink Beds

HICKORY, NC (May 22, 2024) ⇒ The City of Hickory’s Sails Original Music Series will feature electro-indie rock band Pink Beds on Friday, May 31. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. on Union Square in downtown Hickory.

The Asheville-based band includes Aaron Aiken (vocals, guitar, keys, synths), Jackson Van Horn (guitar, keys, synths), Logan Hall (bass, synths), and Ryan Sargent (drums, percussion).

“Pink Beds sits at the intersection of spacious grooves, lush sounds, and charming song-crafting,” says Sails Music Coordinator Bob Sinclair.

Pink Beds will perform for the Sails Original Music Series in downtown Hickory on Friday, May 31.

Shifting from a lockdown songwriting project to an electrifying live act, the band has taken on a vibrant and captivating quality all their own. Playing off of the spark of a live environment, the band evolves and expands upon their familiar compositions, taking them to new and exciting places. After securing a foothold in southeast markets, becoming a FloydFest On-the-Rise artist, a Relix Magazine Sonic Showdown Finalist, and making prominent regional festival appearances, Pink Beds is eager to bring these new songs and experiences to audiences throughout 2024.

The band’s latest music is nuanced and evolved, showcasing their love of lush, angular, and ethereal sounds designed to resonate with our deepest emotional experiences.

Started in 2012, the City of Hickory’s Sails Original Music Series showcases well-crafted, live music by bringing original music artists to The Sails on the Square. Original music is defined as music that is written or composed by the artist who performs it.

The Sails Original Music Series offers excellent musical entertainment from national and international touring acts with the help of numerous sponsors. Thanks to presenting sponsor Protection Products, Inc., and supporting sponsors Atriax, Bob Sinclair Music, Larry’s Music & Sound, Pfahlert Creative Labs, Olde Hickory Brewery, and Crowne Plaza for supporting the series.

In addition to the seating available at Union Square, audience members are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. A variety of close-by bars and restaurants offer food and beverages.

ABC permitted businesses within the Hickory Downtown Social District will sell beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages in specially marked cups that may be consumed on Union Square, sidewalks, and other public areas within the designated boundaries of the social district.
