Sabres End Spartans Playoff Run by Dan O’Neal

SAWMILLS, NC (November 6, 2017)…South Caldwell played their first round game tonight at Spartan Stadium after receiving a first round bye. They took on South Mecklenburg from the So Meck 7 Conference and entered the game with a 14-4-3 record.

The game, played in foggy conditions due to rain earlier in the day, remained scoreless until the 60th minute when Sabres midfielder Angel Robelledo scored amid the crowded goal after a corner kick. For much of the game, Spartans Coach Elliott Bridges employed five defenders which worked for much of the contest.

However, Sabres forward Yannis Wome sealed the deal for the Sabres with a goal in the 72nd minute, making the final score 2 nil. South Caldwell finishes their 2017 soccer season with a 10-6-3 record. Congratulations to these guys for a great season.
