Rotary donates dictionaries to support generations of learners

LENOIR, NC (November 20, 2018) — The Lenoir and Caldwell Rotary Clubs joined together to provide dictionaries for every third grade student in the Caldwell County School System. Nearly 900 third graders received dictionaries before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Rotary International Clubs and other civic service organizations from across the United States support the project by purchasing dictionaries and distributing them to third grade students in their communities.

More than 24 million dictionaries have been presented to students since 1992.

Students are encouraged to use it as a resource. “Even though there are countless online learning tools, we want to provide each student their own hand held copy that can be useful throughout their educational experience,” said Paul Brandenburg, Lenoir Rotary President.
