Power Restoration Continues Overnight, Completion Projected for 5 pm Sunday: Members still without power should consider overnight plans if needed

LENOIR, NC (December 9, 2017 – 9 pm)…Blue Ridge Energy members still without power are advised to make overnight plans if needed as line technicians continue working to repair damage to some 400 damaged locations causing outages.

As of 9 pm, 347 members in hardest hit Caldwell County remain without power. Full restoration is projected for 5 pm Sunday.

While line crews were restoring many outages Saturday, many new outages occurred from extremely heavy wet snow causing trees and large limbs to break, tearing down power lines and breaking poles in various locations.

Additional crews from sister cooperatives and contractors are assisting Blue Ridge Energy in power restoration efforts to ensure power is restored as quickly as safely possible.

Downed power lines can be extremely dangerous, even deadly! The public is reminded to stay far away from downed lines and report them by calling the cooperative or 911.

To ensure all outages are recorded in the Blue Ridge Energy tracking system, it is very important for members to report outages using one of the following two options:

•           Call PowerLine: 1-800-448-2383

•           Use the Blue Ridge mobile app, available free in app stores

A live outage map is available on the mobile app and online at www.BlueRidgeEnergy.com.
