She then attended Winston-Salem State University to obtain her nursing degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She worked as a nurse in ER, critical care, home health, and hospice. She has continued her mission work stateside and abroad by serving in West Africa, Costa Rica, Louisiana, Mississippi, Iowa, and post-earthquake Haiti. Her first church was Becks Evangelical Lutheran in Lexington, NC. Her pastoral duties began September 1, 2016 at Philadelphia, and she was installed during the September 18, 2016 service by The Reverend Mike Riley.
