The first step to successful pest control in the garden is to properly identify your pest! Join Horticulture Extension Agent Eli Snyder at Unity Park and Community Garden on June 21 for a twilight pest scouting tour of the vegetable gardens. We will identify both good bugs and bad bugs, diseases, disorders, and weeds that may be competing with vegetables in your home garden, too.
We will also discuss different pests using Integrated Pest Management, a system that incorporates cultural, biological, and mechanical/physical controls, as well as chemical controls to manage pests. Those with an interest in organic gardening will enjoy this event.
The class is free and open to the public. Please register in advance so we may contact you in the event of inclement weather. Register by filling in this form or by calling 757.1290.
Cost: Free
