One-Stop (Early) Voting begins October 20 for 2016 General Election

LENOIR, NC (October 19, 2016)…One-Stop (Early) Voting for the 2016 General Election in North Carolina and Caldwell County will begin on Thursday, October 20 and last through Saturday, November 5.

Hours for One-Stop (Early) Voting will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. There will be no voting on Sundays.

There are two locations for One-Stop (Early) Voting. The locations are the City/County Chambers on the first floor of the Caldwell County Alden E. Starnes Administration Building in Lenoir, and the Shuford Recreation Center, at 51 Pinewood Road, in Granite Falls.

Citizens may register to vote during One-Stop (Early) voting by registering and voting on the same day.

Applications for absentee voting may be picked up at the Caldwell County Board of Elections which is located in the Caldwell County Alden E. Starnes Administration Building, at 905 West Ave NW, in Lenoir, or also by going onto the Caldwell County website at www.caldwellcountync.org, choosing departments and clicking on the Board of Elections page. The deadline to apply for the mail out absentee ballots is Tuesday, November 1.

On Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, voters must go to their regular precinct for voting. Polls will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. To find out their precinct, voters should come by or call the Caldwell County Board of Elections at 828-757-1326.
