New ambulance base approved for Grace Chapel Road in southern end of county

LENOIR, NC (August 21, 2017)…At the Caldwell County Commissioners meeting on Monday, August 21, 2017 the purchase of property to house a new ambulance base was approved by the commissioners at a cost of $150,000.  This new base will be located on Grace Chapel Road at the old Grace Chapel Fire Department.  The property will need to undergo renovations before it is placed into use.  The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office may utilize the property in the future as well.  Grace Chapel Fire Department Chief Bryan Edwards and Caldwell County Emergency Services Chief Dino DiBernardi were both on hand at the meeting to answer questions.  At the meeting, Caldwell County Commissioner Donnie Potter said the southern/southeastern end of the county needs this base to ensure the well-being of the residents and to improve response times.
