NCDOT to hold public meeting on October 4 regarding the proposed improvement of Pinewood Road in Granite Falls

GRANITE FALLS, NC (September 18, 2018) — There will be a public meeting held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 by the NCDOT regarding the proposed improvement of Pinewood Road in Granite Falls.

NCDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING ON OCTOBER 4 REGARDING THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT OF PINEWOOD ROAD (S.R. 1109) FROM U.S. 321 TO BERT HUFFMAN DRIVE (S.R. 1931) IN CALDWELL COUNTY

STIP Project No. U-6036

The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to improve the roadway on Pinewood Road (S.R. 1109) from U.S. 321 to Bert Huffman Road (S.R. 1931) in Granite Falls.  The purpose of this project is to relieve congestion along Pinewood Road.  

A public meeting will be held at the Granite Falls Town Office Council Chamber at 4 South Main Street on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the project and gather input on the proposed design. As information becomes available, it may be viewed online at the NCDOT Public Meeting Webpage: http://www.ncdot.gov/news/public-meetings.

The public may attend at any time during the public meeting hours, as no formal presentation will be made. NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and receive comments. The comments and information received will be taken into consideration as work on the project develops.

The opportunity to submit written comments will be provided at the meeting or can be done via phone, email, or mail by November 5, 2018.

December 18, 2018 Update:

U-6036 is to be let to construction on June 2020.

No changes have been made to the plan set since the meeting in October of 2018.

The next approved plan set changes will be available to distribute in June 2019.
