RALEIGH, NC (August 9, 2019) — Litter along North Carolina’s roads is a constant issue, so there is always a need volunteers like you to help keep our roads clean, safe and beautiful. This year’s Fall Litter Sweep is Sept. 14-28.
Participants will be given clean-up supplies such as reversible orange and blue trash bags, gloves and safety vests from their local NCDOT County Maintenance Yard offices.
NCDOT spends $18 million a year picking up litter. Volunteer efforts like the spring and fall litter sweeps, plus Adopt-A-Highway teams, help keep our roads clean while saving taxpayers millions of dollars.
