Narcotic Agents Take Down Another Meth Dealer

LENOIR, NC (March 19, 2019) — Sheriff Alan C. Jones has announced on March 19, 2019, Agents with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office Ice Unit concluded a month-long investigation into suspected methamphetamine dealer, Jeremy Curtis Setzer, age 33, of 1923 Norwood St. #304 Lenoir, North Carolina.

The investigation came to an end on March 18, 2019 with an arrest in the parking area of a retail establishment on Hickory Boulevard in Granite Falls. Agents placed Jeremy Curtis Setzer and Destinee Kay Smith, age 22, of 3043 1st Ave. NW Hickory, North Carolina in custody. Agents seized a total amount of 84 grams of methamphetamine from Setzer and Smith during the investigation.

Jeremy Curtis Setzer has been charged with one count of Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession, one count of Trafficking Methamphetamine by Transport and one count of Maintaining a Vehicle for the Sale of Controlled Substance. His bond was set at $100,000.00 secured and his first appearance is set for March 20, 2019. Setzer is also currently on Parole for Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine.

Destinee Kay Smith has been charged with one count of Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession, one count of Trafficking Methamphetamine by Transport and Maintaining a Vehicle for the Sale of Controlled Substance. Her bond was set at $30,000.00 secured and her first appearance is set for March 20, 2019.
