Significant rainfall over the weekend caused flooding of Wilson Creek and its tributaries, as well as landslides and washouts on area roads. Please use caution if traveling in the Wilson Creek area. The following Forest Service roads in the Wilson Creek area of Caldwell and Avery Counties were impacted:

  • Schoolhouse Ridge Road (FSR 4068) is closed to all motor vehicle traffic.
  • Roseboro Road (FSR 981) is only passable for high clearance and four-wheel drive vehicles.
  • Mortimer-Piedmont Road (FSR 982) and Edgemont-Pinola Road (FSR 464) are in poor condition but are passable for most vehicles.

Further rainfall is expected, and soils will remain wet into the weekend. Additional impacts to roads may occur until conditions dry.
