**UPDATE** GRANITE FALLS, NC (May 31, 2019) — Grace Chapel Community – On Wednesday May 29, 2019 a motor vehicle collision occurred on Grace Chapel Road involving a vehicle operated by Mr. Terry Daniel Ray, 38 of Caldwell County, NC. Mr. Ray ran from the collision and was unable to be located by authorities, resulting in a wide-area search for the subject on May 29 and 30. The search operation involved land, air and water assets provided by Grace Chapel, Granite Falls and Sawmills Fire Departments, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and Caldwell County Emergency Services personnel.
Following the use of the CodeRed Emergency Alert Notification System, news and social media outlets and the wide-area search, Mr. Ray was located this morning, May 31, 2019, following a tip called in to Caldwell County 9-1-1 by a passing motorist. Mr. Ray was found to be in good health, with minor injuries and refused medical care offered by Caldwell County EMS. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the motor vehicle collision and as of the date of this press release no charges have been filed related to same.
