Meth dealer arrested after swat raid
LENOIR, NC (July 31, 2018) — On July 30, 2018, at approximately 9:30 pm, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Narcotic Agents with the Ice Unit paid a surprise visit to a man suspected of distributing methamphetamine in the Grace Chapel Community. Osvaldo Juan Sierra-Ruiz, age 51, of 3884 Berry Creek Circle in Granite Falls was arrested and charged with felony possession with intent to sell/deliver methamphetamine and maintain a dwelling to keep/store controlled substances after a raid on his house yielded approximately ½ ounce methamphetamine and 22 grams of high grade marijuana. During the search warrant, Agents also seized cash, multiple digital weighing scales, ledgers and other items of paraphernalia. The drugs have a street value of $2,065 according to North Carolina State Drug Guidelines. Ruiz was given a $50,000 secured bond and has a first court appearance on August 1, 2018, in District Court in Lenoir.
