Mended Hearts Chapter Hosts New Caregiver Support Group Meeting Monday, Feb. 25

HICKORY, NC (February 13, 2019) — Individuals who are caregivers for survivors of a heart event (coronary bypass, heart attack or cardiac catheterization) are invited to attend a chapter meeting of Hickory’s Mended Hearts Cardiac Caregivers Support Group on Monday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. at Frye Regional Medical Center.

“Being a caregiver for someone who has experienced a heart event or surgery can be challenging, and even somewhat overwhelming at times,” said Donna Anthony, RN, Frye Regional Mended Hearts Coordinator. “Our Mended Hearts local chapter realized it would be great to provide a monthly support group for caregivers to help them establish a network that they can confide in and who understand what they’re going through as a support person.”

Mended Hearts is a volunteer support group that visits and supports patients at Frye Regional Medical Center who have had a recent cardiac event. The local chapter was formed in 2016.

The group will meet the fourth Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at Frye Regional Medical Center. If you have questions or would like additional information, please call Program Coordinator Donna Anthony at 828.315.3563.
