Marijuana dealer busted by Sheriff’s Ice Unit
LENOIR, NC (April 21, 2017)…Sheriff Alan C. Jones has announced on April 19, 2017, a marijuana dealer was arrested on drug charges stemming from an earlier investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Ice Unit. Anthony Clay Hatton, age 29, of 4475 Sawmills School Road in Granite Falls was taken into custody at his residence without incident by Sheriff’s Deputies on a Warrant for Arrest for Felony Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana and Felony Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling to Keep or Store Marijuana. On February 28, 2017, during an investigation Ice Unit Narcotic Agents caught Hatton with approximately 3 pounds of high grade marijuana valued at $34,100 according to North Carolina State Drug Guidelines. Agents also took weighing scales and other drug paraphernalia items.

Hatton was incarcerated in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $1,500.00 secured bond. He had a first appearance in District Court in Lenoir on April 20, 2017.
