LENOIR, NC (March 30, 2018)…Local poet LB Sedlacek will read poems from her book “Poetry in LA” on Thursday, April 26th at 6pm at the Caldwell Heritage Museum. This event is free, family friendly and open to the public. The poems from her book are all about the Lenoir area, which locals fondly refer to as “LA.” The poems originated with her Facebook page @poetryinla. Poems cover Wilson’s Creek, Hibriten mountain, downtown Lenoir, the Blue Ridge mountains and more. In 2001, Sedlacek created and still publishes “The Poetry Market Ezine,” a free resource just for poets. She also edits and critiques poems and poetry books for other poets. Her poems have been published in numerous journals and zines. She is a former Poetry Editor of “ESC! Magazine” and co-hosted the small press podcast “Coffee House to Go.” Some of her latest chapbooks are “Constellate,” “Mars or Bust,” and “Hey Astro!” When she isn’t writing or running her own small business in Lenoir, she enjoys swimming, reading, and volunteering for the Caldwell Humane Society.
