LENOIR, NC (May 3, 2019) — Officers with the Lenoir Police Department took more than 20 fourth graders fishing at Johnny Wilson farm Thursday, May 2, 2019, during the department’s eighth “Take A Kid Fishing Day.” Students were selected for the trip from the five elementary schools in the city – Davenport Elementary, Horizons Elementary, Lower Creek Elementary School, West Lenoir Elementary, and Whitnel Elementary School. Thank you to NC Wildlife Resources Commission for coming out and supplying fishing poles for the kids. After a morning of fishing, officers fed the students hot dogs and then headed back to class.
