Lenoir man pleads guilty to felony assault

LENOIR, NC (September 17, 2018) — Dwayne Adam Hollar, 47, of Lenoir, was sentenced to serve five to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury during Caldwell County Superior Court last week.

The Honorable Robert C. Ervin, Superior Court Judge from Burke County, issued the active prison term for Hollar following his guilty plea on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018. The defendant will serve the sentence in custody of the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections.

On Oct. 28, 2017, Hollar struck the female victim in the face and threw her to the floor, causing a broken nose and dislocated shoulder. He then stabbed her three times with a knife.

The case was investigated by Det. Drew Greene of Lenoir Police Department. Assistant District Attorney Andrew Jennings handled prosecution for the State.
