Lenoir man convicted of felonious assault

LENOIR, NC (July 27, 2018) — James Wesley Bare, 29, of Lenoir, will spend at least two years in prison after he was convicted of felonious assault inflicting serious injury during Caldwell County Superior Court on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

Bare will serve his active prison term of two to three years in custody of the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections after being sentenced by the Honorable Robert C. Ervin, Superior Court Judge from Burke County.

The defendant kicked a female victim during a domestic dispute on May 27, 2016, causing injury. She made her way to a neighbor’s house where 911 was dialed to get assistance from medical and law enforcement personnel. The assault led to the victim being treated at Carolinas Medical Center.

Deputy Scott Williams investigated the case for the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant District Attorney Andrew Jennings handled prosecution for the State.
