Lenoir City Council honors Kimberly Edmisten

LENOIR, NC (December 07, 2017)…The Lenoir City Council held a reception Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, to honor outgoing Councilwoman Kimberly Edmisten. Edmisten was appointed to Council in 2015, but did not win reelection this year. Mayor Joe Gibbons presented Edmisten with a resolution and a Key to the City. Gibbons and the Council thanked Edmisten for her service, and said they look forward to working with her in the future.

 

Resolution Honoring Kimberly P. Edmisten

WHEREAS, Kimberly P. Edmisten, has served faithfully and diligently as a Council Member for the City of Lenoir beginning February 17, 2015 through November 30, 2017 and;

WHEREAS, as an elected official, Kimberly Edmisten has devoted her time, energy and talents to this City and provided experience, sound judgment and ardent support while serving on various committees to briefly name a few:

·         served on the City’s highly successful 2008 “All America City” Committee

·         current Chairperson of the Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce Leadership/Executive Board

·         appointed to the Western Piedmont Council of Governments 2018 Workforce Development Board

·         appointed as the City of Lenoir’s representative to the Local Emergency Planning Committee

·         current member of the Lenoir Service League and provides significant community service to the citizens of Lenoir

WHEREAS, Kimberly Edmisten, has reviewed and deliberated all matters, facts, and proposals presented before the Council in a fair and sound manner, at all times keeping the best interest of the citizens as a first priority; and

WHEREAS, Kimberly Edmisten has worked constantly to further Lenoir’s economic, cultural and aesthetic development, as evidenced by the many successful projects accomplished under her excellent leadership as Councilwoman;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lenoir City Council hereby expresses sincere appreciation to our friend and colleague, who through her leadership and dedicated service to this City has earned respect and has made lasting contributions for the betterment of the City,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, I, Mayor Joseph L. Gibbons, by virtue of the authority vested in me as\ Mayor of the City of Lenoir, North Carolina, and on behalf of the City Council and all the citizens, do hereby extend our deepest gratitude and highest commendation to Kimberly P. Edmisten for her devoted and outstanding service.
