Hudson man convicted of drug trafficking

LENOIR, NC (July 27, 2018) — Tony Aaron Ferguson, 23, of Hudson, was sentenced to serve three to four years in prison following his conviction for trafficking in methamphetamine during Caldwell County Superior Court on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

The Honorable Robert C. Ervin, Superior Court Judge from Burke County, imposed the active prison term for Ferguson, who will serve the sentence in custody of the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections.

Investigators with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office received information that Ferguson was selling methamphetamine and began an investigation. On July 31, 2017, he was seen by deputies driving to the residence of a known drug supplier. When he left the location, a traffic stop was conducted, and methamphetamine was found in the vehicle.

The case was investigated by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office ICE Unit and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Andrew Jennings.
