Holiday sing-along and parade at the Patrick Beaver Memorial Library

HICKORY, NC (June 22, 2018)…Patrick Beaver Memorial Library is celebrating our nation’s Independence Day with the annual Happy Birthday America! Parade and sing-along on Tuesday, July 3.  Kids of all ages are invited to decorate their wheels in holiday red, white, and blue and join the parade around the SALT Block parking lots.  Decorate your strollers, bikes, tricycles, scooters, wagons, and even yourselves.  Of course, don’t forget your helmets!  Local celebrity judges from Hickory Police and Fire departments, along with Mayor Hank Guess, will award prizes in several categories.

The fun starts with a patriotic family sing-along with Sharon Clarke at 11:00 a.m., and the parade will immediately follow.  Special guests from the Hickory Police Department and a fire engine from the Hickory Fire Department will join the celebration.

This event is free and open to the public.  Photos of previous parade events can be seen in the City of Hickory’s Facebook page photo album section.  For further information, contact Lisa Neal, Head of Youth Services, at Hickory Public Library at (828) 304-0500.
