Hickory Firefighters Respond to Vehicle Fire at James Oxygen

HICKORY, NC (September 3, 2021) — At 1:28 pm today, Hickory firefighters were dispatched to vehicle fire at James Oxygen at 30 Highway 321 NW Hickory. The initial call brought two engines, one ladder, and one battalion chief. On arrival minutes later, the first engine company reported smoke visible from the outside of the building and reported multiple explosions. Additional units from agencies listed below are on the scene assisting with the incident. As of 3:00 pm the fire is out and firefighters are taking measures to ensure no additional fires occur.

One person (an employee) has been transported to a local hospital. Cause of the incident and damage estimates are not available at this time.
