GRANITE FALLS, NC (July 11, 2018)…One year after a tornado toppled two Bradford Pear trees in the yard of DC and Vonda Hefner in Granite Falls, the Granite Falls Garden Club Awarded the Hefner’s with Yard Of The Month for July 2018. Their shrubs and lawn are well manicured. Marigolds, periwinkle and knockout roses are currently blooming in beds around the house. Appropriately for July, the home and gardens are tastefully decorated in a patriotic theme. The backyard is a shaded oasis with large shade trees, magnolia and evergreens. A special attraction is their outdoor pond stocked with bright goldfish. The award was presented by Garden Club members Sherry McGill and Teresa Jackson.
