LENOIR, NC (May 18, 2018)…NC Department of Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey conferred The Order of the Guardian on former Fire Chief Ken Briscoe yesterday, May 17, 2018. The Order of the Guardian is awarded in recognition of the character, integrity, service and honor of insurance industry professionals.
Briscoe started his career as a firefighter for the city in 1974. After nine years with the city he took a job with the N.C. Department of Insurance. In 2004, Briscoe returned to Lenoir as Fire Chief. He retired in February.
