First Citizens Bank in Granite Falls robbed Monday afternoon

GRANITE FALLS, NC (October 3, 2016)…On Monday, October 3, 2016 at approximately 12:35pm the Granite Falls Police Department responded to a robbery in progress at First Citizens Bank located at 45 Falls Avenue.

After arriving on the scene, officers obtained a description of the suspect. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’0”, 180 pounds, wearing shorts, purple sweat shirt, red or orange baseball style hat and sun glasses. The suspect entered and exited the front door of the bank. After demanding money, the suspect left the bank and was last seen running toward Al’s Diner, east on Falls Ave. Investigators believe the suspect left the area in a vehicle.

Officers from the Granite Falls Police Department, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Lenoir Police Department, and the NC Highway Patrol assisted in the response and investigation.
