LOUISVILLE, KY (March 18, 2019) — “American Idol” wrapped up the audition phase of the competition in its 17th season on Monday, March 18, 2019 in Louisville, Kentucky with Dudley Shoals own Zeb Spencer receiving a “Golden Ticket to Hollywood.” Zeb auditioned in front of the all-star judging panel of Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie – they all gave him a “Yes.”
Zeb and dozens of other “Idol” hopefuls will begin Hollywood Week next Sunday on ABC at 8pm EST.
Zeb first auditioned for “American Idol” back in 2012 just a few years after he began performing live. Zeb began singing in church when he was five years old and now performs locally three to four times a week.
Zeb is not only a very talented musician, he is known in the world of Clogging as an exceptional flat foot dancer. Before his audition, Luke Bryan grabbed Zeb’s guitar and played it while Zeb gave the judges a taste of Clogging.
After Zeb’s audition, the judges stated the following:
Luke Bryan stated, “You, my friend, in my opinion, are about this close to being absolutely incredible. You have everything country, and you have the country soul that doesn’t sound forced. Just get a little touch of pain and relaxation in there. Man, I love your tone.”
Katy Perry stated, “You gave us glimpses of kind of this grit that I hope to see a little more of.”
Luke Bryan also stated, “I love your potential, man. I love it.” He also stated, “Maybe my favorite country voice that’s come through the last year and this year.” Lionel Richie stated, “I agree with you totally” in response to Luke Bryan.
Good Luck in Hollywood!!!
