VALDESE, NC (January 11, 2017)…BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!! This year’s Relay for Life benefit concert presented by Draughn High School, will be held at the Historic 0ld Rock School in Valdese. The concert will be held April 25.
TWO superstar headliners: BENTON BLOUNT is coming back by popular demand to do acoustic and the well acclaimed Bluegrass, flavored with Gospel, MOUNTAIN FAITH BAND of Sylva, NC is the 2nd headliner. Both headliners shared the America’s Got Talent stage in 2015 with Benton Blount going to the finals and MFB to the semifinals. DHS is excited to have these artists of their caliber to help with a worthy cause in fighting cancer!
Benton Blount is returning to his hometown after recently signing with Pacific Records. He has shared the stage with Zac Brown Band, Darius Rucker, Charlie Daniels Band, Chris Janson, Easton Corbin and Dolly Parton to name a few. Benton recently played with Scott Page of Pink Floyd and recently shared the stage in NYC at a veteran’s benefit with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, John Popper of Blues Traveler, Carmine Rojas of David Bowie’s band, Matt Sorum of Guns N’ Roses and Kenny Aronoff of John Mellencamp Band. He had the #1 song “God Talks to Me” on the Iceman Top 40 for 7 weeks. Benton Blount has sung the National Anthem at Bristol’s Nascar Race and Charlotte Knights.
Mountain Faith has shared the stage with Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels and Loretta Lynn. MFB has debuted on the GRAND OLD OPRY and the Ryman Auditorium. The band received the “EmergingArtistOfTheYear” Award at the 2016 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). Summer McMahan vocalist received the IBMA Momentum Vocalist Award 2015. She has also been nominated for SPBGMA Female Vocalist of the Year 2017. Their album “That Which Matters” debut #1 on the Americana Billboard chart. MFB toured in the Persian Gulf in 2015 for 3,000 troops. They have sung the National Anthem for the Panthers, Falcons, Braves and SF49ers.
Ticket prices are $20 for General Admission and Limited VIP tickets for $40 to include Dinner with the Bands, Meet & Greet, and Reserved Seating. VIP ticket holders will also receive a discounted Biltmore House voucher.

There will be a silent auction of donated items in the lobby to buy tickets and raffle during the show. Doors will open to the lobby at 6 pm and the auditorium will open at 6:30. Show time is at 7 pm. Be sure to SHARE!
