Dolly Parton’s Stampede Band “Mountain Ruckus” to perform at the HUB Auditorium in Hudson

HUDSON, NC (January 6, 2019) — Dolly Parton’s Stampede Band from Pigeon Forge, TN – “Mountain Ruckus” – will be in concert Saturday, Jan. 12th, 7 pm at the HUB Auditorium located at 145 Cedar Valley Road, Hudson, NC. The opening act will be Caldwell County’s own “Blackberry Jam” featuring the musical talent of several Caldwell youth.

Mountain Ruckus performs regularly at Dolly’s “Dixie Stampede,” and it is rare to see them anywhere else. The band is led by Dolly’s band leader & producer, Gary “Biscuit” Davis, who is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and four-time National Banjo Champion. He has also co-produced three of Dolly’s albums and was musician on six of them. Matt Varhola, second member of Mountain Ruckus, contributes vocals and plays bass. Varhola is noted for having performed with the Vogues, The Platters, Wayne Newton, Louise Mandrell, Glenn Campbell, and numerous shows on Broadway. Third Ruckus member, Robert Hale, contributes vocals and plays guitar. Hale is noted for having been lead singer for J.D. Crowe and the New South, leads his own band Wildfire, and is a regular on Sirius XM radio. He has also sung and played guitar on two of Dolly Parton’s albums.

All proceeds from this event go to benefit the “HUB Station” project. Tickets prices are $25 for adults, $15 for children 12 & under. Tickets are available at: HUB Box Office, Hudson Town Hall, The Gold Mine Jewelry Store and online at TIX.

The concert is the culmination of the Open House and kickoff on January 12th for the new HUB Station project that is re-branding The HUB as a full arts and economic development center for the region. Open House begins at 11 AM and concludes at 4 PM, allowing the public to view the changes occurring to scale up how The HUB will become an even greater stimulus for community by connecting arts and business.
