HICKORY, NC (March 13, 2019) — The Crawdads are excited to announce their 2019 promotional schedule. The schedule features twelve firework shows, seven giveaways, two post-game Christian Concerts, and a full slate of theme nights.
12 Fireworks, 7 Giveaways and A Whole Summer of Fun!…
Fireworks will follow all 11 Friday night games this season and the July 4th game, which will be the biggest show of the year.
The first giveaway will take place on Opening Night, Thursday April 11th. Fans will receive a free magnet schedule courtesy of Absolute Tree Care and WHKY 1290 AM and 102.3 FM. On Saturday April 13th the Crawdads will give away poster schedules thanks to Try Something Wild, Dan’l Boone Inn, Lake Hickory Vet, Hickory Printing Solutions, and Big Dawg 92.1. The first 1,000 fans on Saturday, May 11th will receive a red replica jersey thanks to Pepsi. Youth and adult sizes will be available. In honor of Mother’s Day the following day, Sunday, May 12th, moms will get a carnation from Whitfield’s Flower’s and More. On Saturday, June 8th, the ‘Dads will give away 1,000 bobbleheads courtesy of Big Dawg 92.1. The bobbleheads will be related to the Copa identity that will be revealed on Monday. The Crawdads will have a tee shirt giveaway, sponsored by Ducks Graphics and KICKS 103.3, on Saturday June 22nd to the first 1,000 fans. Various tee shirt sizes will be available. The ‘Dads will have two college nights this season that will feature hat giveaways. App State Night is scheduled for Saturday, August 24th and will include a 1,000 giveaway hats presented by Blue Ridge Energies and WHKY 1290 AM and 102.3 FM. A Lenoir-Rhyne Hat giveaway, brought to you by Cody Law Firm and KICKS 103.3, will wrap up the giveaway schedule.
The 2019 promotional schedule will feature three specialty jerseys. The Hickory Crawmoms will return for Mother’s Day on May 12th. During the game, Crawdads players will use pink bats that will be auctioned off with the proceeds being donated to local breast cancer patients. The Crawdads are participating in Minor League Baseball’s Copa de La Diversion this season and will take on a Hispanic identity during six games this season (June 7-9, July 17, August 8, and August 25). On Friday, July 26th the ‘Dads are throwing it back to the Wild West and will wear themed jerseys featuring a western town landscape. A silent auction for the wild west jerseys will be held during the game. The ‘Dads will also have a MiLB silent auction on August 9th that will feature various items from bobbleheads to autographed baseballs that were donated by Minor League teams throughout the country.
The post-game Christian concert series will take place on Saturday, April 27th and Saturday, July 27th. Sanctus Real will perform on April 27th thanks to Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove, Hickory Christian Academy and 106.9 The Light. Micah Tyler will take the stage following the July 27th game presented by Seagle Electric, Gardner-Webb University, Billy Graham Library, and 106.9 The Light
The ‘Dads have scheduled several appearances at the Frans during the season. The ZOOperstars! and BirdZerk! will make their annual trip to the Frans on Memorial Day weekend. The ZOOperstars! presented by KICKS 103.3, will appear on the Saturday (May 25th) while BirdZerk! will entertain the crowd with his prankster antics on Sunday (May 26th). Jon Reep will make an appearance on June 22nd. The comedian and Hickory native will have the entire night dedicated to his honor.
The Crawdads will bring back several popular theme nights this year. Disney Night featuring the Enchanted Elegance Princesses Night will return on Friday, June 21st. Heroes Night with Heroic Ventures Heroes is set for Friday, August 9th. Star Wars Night is also returning to the Frans on Friday, August 23rd. The Crawdads will host two Bark in the Park days in 2019. The first is scheduled for Sunday, April 28th and the second will be on Sunday, September 1st.
In addition to some of the fan favorite theme nights that are coming back this season, the 2019 schedule is packed with new theme nights and celebrations. The theme nights will kick off on Friday, April 12th with Roaring 20s night. On Thursday, May 9th, the Crawdads will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Napoleon Dynamite. The next night, they will celebrate another movie anniversary with Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story Night. The weekend will continue with a Murder Mystery at the ballpark on Saturday, May 11th. Fans will be given clues throughout the night and to try to solve the mystery. Thursday, 23rd fans can have their first Thanksgiving meal of the year with Thanksgiving in May. The Crawdads will celebrate the British Invasion on Friday, May 24th. Get ready for a totally tubular time on July 5th with 80s night. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, the Crawdads are hosting Space Night on July 6th. The ‘Dads will pay tribute to Tom Hanks on July 25th with a night that will include homages to many of his movies. August will be full of movie and TV show tributes including: Friends Night (August 10th), Simpsons 30th Anniversary (August 22), 80th Anniversary of Wizard of Oz (August 24), and Field of Dreams 30th Anniversary (August 31st).
Also, on the promotional schedule are the 77th Anniversary of Duck Tape (April 13th), Remember the Titanic Day (April 14th), Woodstock Night (June 6th), Riverdale Night (June 20), Social Media Sunday (June 23), OJ Night (June 24), and Video Game Night (July 24th). The Crawdads will also host a Wizard night on Friday, August 30th.
Single game tickets will go on sale online this Friday (March 15th) at 9am. Tickets will be available in person starting at the Spring Fling on Saturday, March 23rd.
