County re-opens Granite Falls office for payments
GRANITE FALLS, NC (February 2, 2017)…Caldwell County has re-opened an office in the Granite Falls EMS Base for citizens in the southern part of the county to make regularly occurring payments.
The base which is located at 4 Falls Avenue, Granite Falls, will now also be known as the Caldwell County Satellite Payment Center. The office officially opened on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
Citizens will be able to pay their Caldwell County monthly water bills, Caldwell County property tax bills and ambulance bills at the office. Payments can be made by cash, check and credit card.
Caldwell County operated a satellite office in the town of Granite Falls EMS for 10 years before closing it in September of 2010. The retirement of two of the employees and concern about a possible tightening of the budget were the reasons.
“We, as commissioners, realize that a large majority of our population are located in the Granite Falls and southern areas of the county,” explains Chairman Randy Church, Caldwell County Commissioners. “I have heard the request to re-open the southern office for the four years I have been on the board and I know my fellow commissioners have as well. We are glad that we can finally make it happen.”
The office is staffed with two County employees and the hours will be regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
