City of Lenoir hires Main Street Program Coordinator

LENOIR, NC (December 11, 2017)…The City of Lenoir has hired Kyle Case as the new Main Street Program Coordinator. Case will work in the Main Street Department and report to Main Street Director Kaylynn Horn.

As Main Street Coordinator, Case will oversee the promotion of Main Street events and happenings in downtown, and he will be the liaison between the Main Street Program and other event organizers. With a strong focus on social media and web based initiatives, Case will also work with downtown businesses to explore possible promotional and marketing events for the Downtown business district.

Case is not new to Lenoir. He worked in downtown for more than a year as the Sales Representative for Howard Brewing Company. He’s looking forward to playing a part in the changes happening in Lenoir.

“I am very excited to be working with the City,” Case said. “I’ve been on the periphery of what was going on downtown, and with this position I’ll be at the heart of the engine in downtown. I feel that we’re headed in the right direction in Lenoir and I’m glad to be a part of that.”

Case grew up in Caldwell County and graduated from South Caldwell High School. He earned an undergraduate degree in cultural anthropology from UNC Wilmington. After college, Case worked in the hospitality industry and the brewing industry, including working as the Front Office Manager at the Hotel Indigo Asheville Downtown in Asheville. After a few years, Case found his way back to Caldwell County and realized that Lenoir had changed a bit from what he remembered.

“Lenoir was a lot different when I came back,” Case said. “There were new businesses, new things to do, and younger people. I felt like there was opportunity here.”

Case said it’s good to see new businesses in downtown, and he likes that that there is an arts community, and local music that draws people into Lenoir.

“Downtown feels much livelier and has some energy,” Case said. “I’d like to see more of that, and I want to help bring more of that into downtown.”

Main Street Director Kaylynn Horn said that having Case on board will allow the department to pursue other projects and initiatives that will further support downtown development.

“I’m thrilled to have Kyle on staff,” Horn said. “Having someone who can focus on events and downtown business promotions will allow the Main Street Program to maintain the momentum in downtown Lenoir and put more focus on the other points of the Main Street Program.  Kyle brings with him an experiential base that not only draws from a background in event planning, the craft brewery and hospitality industry, but an intrinsic desire to see his community prosper and flourish.   We are looking forward to putting his creativity and ideas to work!”

Case also is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Administration at Appalachian State University. Case started Friday Dec. 1, just in time to help out with the Christmas Parade.

The Lenoir Main Street Program is certified main street community. The Main Street Program Four Point Approach is 1. Economic Vitality, 2. Design, 3. Promotion, and 4. Organization.
