CCC&TI Women’s Basketball announces new player

HUDSON, NC (December 8, 2016)…Bayleigh Ponds, a 2016 graduate of Richland Northeast High School in Columbia, S.C., and a transfer from Montreat College, recently joined the Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute’s women’s basketball team. Ponds, who is 6-foot-1, averaged 11.5 points per game as a senior at Richland and was picked for the 3A All Region Team. CCC&TI Women’s Head Coach Ty Johnson said Ponds is a long, athletic guard who can slash and shoot. “She’s one of those players every coach wants on their team,” he said. “She makes good decisions.” As a transfer, she will be eligible to play beginning with in Fall 2017, Johnson said.
