CCC&TI Trustee, Granite Falls Town Manager Jerry Church, to lead annual fund drive
HUDSON, NC (February 27, 2017)…The Foundation of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute has announced that college Board of Trustees Vice Chairman Jerry Church will lead the 2017 Annual Fund Drive Campaign.
Church, who is a graduate of CCC&TI, said it is an honor to serve as Chairman of the Foundation’s annual fund drive.
“This institution means so much to me, to my family and to this community,” he said. “As a member of the Board of Trustees and a long-time member of the business community, I’m able to see the college’s impact every day. CCC&TI changes lives through education and is a tremendous asset to the region’s workforce development efforts. Thanks to the community’s support through the Foundation’s annual Fund Drive, we’re able to impact the lives of many more students and improve the quality of the education for all CCC&TI students. I’m truly excited to lead this year’s effort and to help the Foundation reach this year’s goal.”
Church, who currently serves as Granite Falls Town Manager, has been on the CCC&TI Board of Trustees since 1996, and has served as Vice Chairman since 2000. Prior to his post with the Town of Granite Falls, Church rose through the ranks at Broyhill Furniture Industries during his nearly 30-year career there. In 2006 he was named Executive Vice President of Operations and had previously served as Chief Financial Officer. In 2016, Church received the Caldwell Economic Development Commission’s Herman Anderson Award for his years of dedication to economic development and was chairman of CCC&TI’s Presidential Search Committee.
The 2017 Foundation of CCC&TI Annual Fund Drive campaign will kick off for the community on March 1. At the event, Church will be introduced as the campaign chairman and the fund-raising goal of this year will be announced. Last year, the Foundation raised more than $360,000 in a record-breaking fund drive.
