Editors Note:  We are still working on streamlining snow reports and we realize this report is being posted late.  This is sort of a test run…

Cataloochee Ski Area Snow Report for December 13, 2016

Date: 12/13/16 Time: 8:00am Weather: 42

On Tuesday will be skiing from the top of the mountain down on nine slopes, Advanced Upper Omigosh, Intermediate Rock Island Run, Intermediate Lower Snowbird Trail and Intermediate Lower Omigosh serviced by the Omigosh Double Chairlift, Beginners Rabbit Hill and Beginners Easy Way serviced by the Easy Way Triple Chairlift, Beginners Luck Learning Area serviced by the moving carpet conveyor lift and the Wolf Creek Hollow Teaching Area on a base of 22-42” and machine groomed surface. Another cold front will be moving through the area midweek and we will begin snowmaking again as quickly as possible.

On Tuesday we will offer one session of skiing: Day skiing only from 9am – 4:30pm with a morning or afternoon half day rate also available.

We have made snow at Tube World located in Maggie Valley, across from Ghost Town in the Sky, four miles from the ski area but Tube World is not open at this time.

Our rental shop in Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski & Sports, is open daily. Be sure to stop there for your discounted rentals and all accessories you might need prior to your day on the slopes.

Don’t forget that if you have not made up your mind to purchase your season pass at Cataloochee, the lift ticket you purchase today can be upgraded to a season pass…using the cost of your lift ticket you have already purchased against the price of your pass. You just pay the difference

Also, don’t forget if you have a current season pass to any other area, you can bring your pass to Cataloochee and receive $10 off your day’s lift ticket.

Please help us help support our patrol and ski area families of Ober Gatlinburg during the wildfires that spread through their town last week. Many of our Cataloochee family patrol are there and several lost homes and businesses. Click HERE to help them as they begin to rebuild.

We remind you to be aware of changing ski conditions and use caution. Natural and manmade obstacles exist and snowmaking and grooming activities are routinely in progress. Please use control and ski or ride only on designated slopes and trails and please call this number anytime for current skiing conditions.

Don’t forget to join us on Facebook and Twitter and for our complete brochure right at your fingertips or to look for us on the web at www.Cataloochee.com or visit www.kidsskifree.com for more information on our Kids Stay and Ski Free program.
